Abstract

The FeTe0.5Se0.5 sample is prepared through solid state-reaction route by encapsulation in an evacuated quartz tube at 750 degrees C. The resultant compound is crystallized in single phase tetragonal structure with P4/nmm space group. The transport measurement shows the sample is superconducting below 13K. The AC magnetic response of the studied sample is analyzed using a combined method of the fundamental (1st) and the 3rd harmonics AC magnetic susceptibility (ACMS) as a function of the temperature at different frequencies and with various applied DC magnetic fields. The frequency variation particularly affects the 3rd harmonic components, which are more sensitive to the changes in the flux dynamic regimes. In addition to the study of AC third harmonic of the FeSe0.5Te0.5 as a function of both temperature and frequencies in a low applied magnetic field, we compare the observed behaviours with ideal critical state models and with those of other high T-c superconductors (HTSc).
