Abstract

The impact of oxygen and air annealing on the magnetic and magnetotransport properties of Pr1-xCaxMnO3 (x = 0.42) polycrystalline films has been investigated. Our results clear show that oxygen deficiency favors ferromagnetism destroys the charge ordering and induces zero magnetic field insulator-metal transition in this compound. In contrast oxygen annealing restores the charge ordering and favors antiferromagnetic ordering and only magnetic field induced insulator-metal transitions are observed.
